This 4 hour course will take you through some of the routine bike maintenance items so that you can be confident to keep your bike running smoothly between services, and understand better how your bike operates. The course is being taught by an experienced bike mechanic.

Covers the following topics:-
• Tools for the home workshop and out on the trail
• Bike setup, seat height, pedals, cockpit, controls
• Bike safety inspection, pre-ride check
• Checking tyre pressure/tyre selection
• Repairing a puncture, replacing a bike tube and tyre, tubeless setup
• Wheel removal/replacement and inspection
• Suspension setup for bike shock and fork
• Cleaning your bike
• How to check and maintain your drive train; chain, cassette, crank set
• Checking and adjusting your gears, replacing gear cables
• Check brakes for operation and wear, adjustment, pad replacement, rotors
• Bearing inspection, including headset, bottom bracket and pivots

PLEASE NOTE:
The bike maintenance session will include hands on activities and participants will require a set of tyre levers and a fully functioning bicycle, chain lube, rag(s) for drive train. A shock pump and track or hand pump would also be useful.
