Details:

A group training ride - starting with a couple of warm-up laps of OMV, then Quarry Track, Old Northern Rd to Cherrybrook, some trails and single track around Cherrybrook, then back to Pennant Hills via Stringybark Ridge, then Westleigh before returning to OMV.

As a guide, the pace will be set around the "3-hour half fling" mark. Of course even if you're not racing the Fling you're welcome!

The plan is to step up the pace a bit compared to the first training ride we did...

There are water stops along the way - I usually go with one bottle only.

This is not a beginners' ride - it is an intermediate level ride at a decent pace. There are some very steep climbs and about 1300m of climbing all up. The overall difficulty is similar to the half fling, but with a bit more techy singletrack thrown in. And being a training ride we'll try not to stop too often. There are some road sections to link it all up, including one quite busy road.

I will need to leave the group and head straight home from Westleigh, but there should be at least one person coming who knows the way back to OMV from there.

Weather forecast is great - should be fun!

Cheers,
JP

Despite the lack of takers here on NobMob we ended up with a great little training group and a very solid ride before the heat set in. Part III coming this weekend...
