Trailwalker 2008 - Cascades & Bantry Bay trails...

If you ride these trails you have probably seen a lot more walkers recently.

Every year Oxfam organise an event called "Trailwalker" for 2000 walkers to raise several million dollars to combat poverty:

This 100km walk this year is on 29-31 August 2008 and goes through the Cascades [Ridge Top, Quarry, Bare Creek & Cascades tracks] and Bantry Bay [near Ararat Reserve]

So the reason for this post ? - please slow down when riding these tracks especially on Saturday and Sundays till August 2008, [as the walkers will be walking the trails for training], so in the future riders [you and me] and walkers [me] can keep using these trails... Last thing is for someone to get seriously hurt in a bike accident where the park is closed to biker riders and trailwalkers..

If you want to help make poverty history you can sponsor me in this years walk, [anything over $2 is tax deductable]

Seeing as this is for charity the post can stay... but don't anyone else get any funny ideas!

BTW, a walker posting on an MTB site and asking riders to 'slow down' is asking for trouble.

Please everyone, just let it lie!
