return loop back up the hill done yet?
Not sure what you mean sorry. I did Glenbrook up to Woodford and back via the singletrack.
What's the return loop?
About 6 months ago there was talk that the guys that did the lower single track were scoping out a return "climb" loop from the bitumen back up to the gate. My understanding was that they were about to start work on it at the time but I have heard nothing since.

...as my father used to call it, that dates back to at least the 60's, running parallel to the fire trail. The only "built" section is the last bit from the helipad down to the car park before the descent into the creek, and even that is relatively new, replacing an unofficial track that just devloped over a number of years. I'd be surpised if NPWS were contemplating a duplication of the sniggle to provide an up and back track, but haven't heard anything. At the moment, the loop through Euroka and up Bennets Ridge ft is a preferable option to slogging out out al the way up the main ft, particularly on weekends.
As Lach said, I just climbed up the ft.
Lach, do you have a link to the Euroka loop? It sounds more interesting than the normal way.
but my timing was off. It was only end of May and they were finishing the "scoping" of the return loop

Edit: Just realised that post was from May last year. I have asked Synergy on FB what is happening with it.
... and a clunky iPad. Will send you a gps link next week when I'm back. However, it is basically up the ft for a couple of km's, turn left to Euroka, ride down into Euroka and then right at the bottom of the hill. Then just follow that trail around the edge of Euroka, out the gate at the top end and along the ft (Bennets Ridge ft) back up to the main fire trail. Turn left and you're at the Oaks a few minutes later.

Go up the fire trail to Iron Bark Picnic ground, turn left, from memory over a chain or through a gate. Follow this down to Euroka clearing, turn right then just keep following Bennets Rdge Rd back up to the main fire trail. You do have to go through another gate just after the camp grounds and then another at the very top.
