Details:

One last hit-out before tapering off for the Angry Doctor..

This will be the 'tech softie' 100k version, up the Western Commission Track, follow the (surprisingly technical) GNR to Mogo Creek and back down the gravel to Wiseman's thru St Albans to test your mental powers of endurance. Starting a bit earlier this time and stopping as little as possible so there's a chance of grabbing "a cup o' tea an' a slice of cake Aunt Sally" at the Fickle Wombat in St Albans & get back to the car before dark..

A reminder that you need at least 3 litres of water (& preferably 4) as there is none until 80k's in. Oh, and bring plenty food.

Who's in?

Thought I might add a bit more info:
The technical part that ends at Mogo creek rd is at 45Kms so half is on gravel with lots of fast downhill then flat to St Albans (the latter being IMO the hardest bit Laughing out loud)
personally I had about 3,8L of water and it was just enough so as Morgan pointed out bring LOTS of water and food !

Slightly confused by the route... so you want to:

- Cross on the East ferry, turn right, ascend Western Commission track.
- Go past Ten Mile Hollow, Clare's Bridge and all the way to Mogo creek.

Now confused... do you want to then turn left and ride all the way along Mogo Creek Road to St Albans, and from there along the road East of the river back to the start?

I wouldn't find that very appealing - that road can be rough and the corrugations make it a tough return. Mind you - each to his own and all that, don't let me put you off! Eye-wink

With a couple of spins round the ferry it's dead on 100km and because the technical challenge is in the first half, the homeward leg on gravel focuses the mind on finishing the distance rather than fighting to stay on the bike in the rough stuff.

And it's only 45 minutes from where I live which makes it perfect!

Can't make it anymore on Sunday as I have to be back early afternoon. Have fun!!!

I've been fluey all week and haven't shaken it off yet so I'd better bail out too.

Sorry Morgan - I'll see you at the Doctor I guess unless you're up for something a bit shorter in a week's time.

due to injuries (including my crook back - chiro's advice today not to do anything stressful to it - for example subjecting lower back to 100km's of bone jarring rock hopping/corrugation rattling stress).

Hopefully will be well for the Doctor but lack of recent training will pull my sub 4hour dreams back to 8hour plus reality.
(Note to self - please do not DNF!!)

Oh well - them's the 6ft 7inch 40 year old (in one week's time) breaks.
