New spokes and wheel trueing on a Sunday AM?

By Hans - Posted on 16 August 2008

Just got back from a nice ride with my youngest in Royal NP...and now just noticed 2 busted spokes (nipples) and wheel wobble on my DT Swiss 4.30 rear rim.

Question: I wanted to go on a ride tomorrow (Sunday)...any suggestions where I can get (on the LNS, on a Sunday morning)

a) DT Swiss spokes and nipples
b) a quick "on the spot" wheel trueing service?

Appreciate your suggestions.

Thx Hans

if you wanted, you can either borrow my Anthem or take the rear wheel off the Anthem and substitute it on your own. Not sure if it fits, but the offer is there. Smiling

I remember some time ago that the workshop at Kuringai Cycles on the Pacific Highway at Hornsby was open on a Sunday. But only after 10:00 a.m. Ask Evan or Sam about Hornsby Cycles as they may also have their workshop open.

BA is closed. You could also ring KOM and see what they say, but you will $$PAY$$ there.

Hi Liam

thx for the generous offer ... riding your new Anthem sounds tasty...but then I'd hate to put a ding in it ;-( (or the wheel).

At this stage I hope to find some place (or someone) with some spare matching nipples/spokes so I can fix the Enduro up for tomorrows Yellomundee ride.

(I just fitted a new anatomical seat http://www.allaysaddles.com/saddle/saddle.htm and wanted to give it a good workout to see if it treats me well. First impressions are good...)

No worries. Do what you will. Eye-wink

Very technical site. They are like Reebok Pumps, except for your seat. Smiling

Adrian from Belrose Bicycles saved the day...

Thanks for the quick response by Adrian (fellow Nobmobber who works at Belrose Bicycles).

He got my spokes & wheel fixed up real quick and professionally trued the wheel too - on a Sunday morning! All for a VERY reasonable price! Please keep them in mind when considering your next service - they now their stuff & have good gear, tools, accessories etc...and most importantly they CARE !

Check 'em out! http://www.belrosebicycles.com

(on 65 Prince Charles Rd, Frenchs Forest (off Forest Road, close to most trails.)

I'm a happy camper now - as I still could go for a ride today....!
