Hi Guys, New on the Nobmob Forum and hopefully somebody might be able to help. I want to get a new/stronger wheel-set for my SL however, due to the 25 thru axle, I will need to: Convert the casing from 20mm to 25mm is possible and I have found and been provided with information and instructions from the following MTBR Forum: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=423734 I have decided to go with the Azonic Outlaws (Cheap, strong, light and they are white!!!!) which I can pick up for a reasonable price on eBay US. Wheels cost over $700 on TP7 but only $350 including shipping (brand new) from US. I guess the downside on buying from there is the warranty but I am prepared to take the risk and deal with any issues I might have (hopefully none) I have never done anything like this and I might not have the tools to do it. I really want to do this little project but it would be great to be able to speak to somebody here in Sydney who has had the opportunity to convert a hub in the past. Has anyone in Sydney done this? Anyone who can recommend a place in Sydney where I can buy the appropriate Bearings/Washers? I’ve been told that all I need is: Thanks! |

Just curious - why wouldn't you just buy a new rim for the front and rebuild with the existing 25mm hub that you already have?

Hi There! Thought of that option initially but found it very difficult to get somebody to sell me the full Azonic back wheel and the front rim only. I have a big ding on my back wheel so I would like to changed it as well. As it is possible to modify the hub, I am thinking it would be a good idea to give it a go, have the full set fitted on my bike and keep the DT swiss in case I want to use them as well. Is only an idea at this stage anyway and the feedback is that if modified properly, this hub works very wheel on the Specialized E150 fork.
