Well got off to a good start in the uncrowded 5:30 -6:00hr group it was moving at a fast but sustainable pace with no hold ups or traffic jams. For once I had spent some time on getting my bike in tip top working order or so I thought, could hear a grating noise from the drive train the gears were changing perfectly so was a bit stumped to what was wrong around 10km's in a decided to get off the bike & check what was happening before things go pear shaped. I had taken my chain off for the trip down to Mogo due to the rain putting it on early Sunday morning I didn't thread it through the jokey wheel section correctly and it was running over a metal pin instead of under it,in the panic to fix it I let go of the chain and the Connex connector flew of the chain no where to be found luckily had a spare in my Camelbak put it back together and ran smooth all the way to the finish.

At around 60km the legs were getting tied of hills and had to back of a bit as I could feel cramps coming on. Met up with Lincoln at around 30km's to go which really spurred me on we both were in pain but enjoying the great course especially the downhill sections so much fun.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend will be back for sure next year
