Yellowmundee - Suitable for kids?

I'm planning to take the kids out to Yellowmundee tomorrow afternoon, but I haven't been there before. Is there anything suitable for kids? Mine are 11, 7 and 5 (the future athlete!). I've taken them on short rides before, not too technical, not too steep (up or down!) Should I go, or think of something else?

Hi Ian,

I'm thinking you will want to avoid a few places, but there is some nice stuff so you should be OK.

I'm no expert on this, but your best bet is probably to head straight through the (locked) gate from the starting carpark and down the the events area clearing. Most stuff North of there seemed pretty gentle. Although there are probably a couple of things there still to be avoided (the one marked 'Green Tunnel' on the KMZ is particularly tricky).

Although there's no blue line on our map (we didn't ride this way) I'm pretty sure from the events place you could head South (right as you enter from the carpark) and down a firetrail. This cuts out the most technical stuff... Signs & Trees to Bridged Crossing.

Hope this helps - just don't let them loose before checking I guess Eye-wink
