This could be handy for some longer exploratory rides into the BM's, e.g. Six Foot Track...

From Bike NSW: New safety initiative run by Blue Mountains Police and National Parks and Wildlife Service.

It allows people to borrow, free of charge, a Personal Locator Beacon or PLB (commonly confused with EPIRBs which are similar but larger units designed for ships and not suitable for personal use). They are available from Blue Mountains offices of the NPWS or Police. The primary target for this project is bushwalkers in the Blue Mountains, but it would also be of interest to mountain bikers or anyone else who goes into remote areas of the Blue Mountains.
