For those contemplating single speed I came across these 29er frames the other day and they are great value and a nice frame.

Vassago Jabberwocky 29er Single Speed

I might get one to build up as a rigid SS race bike for the solo 24hr.

How much are they in AUS and where from? I have Raleigh 29'er at the moment that I love apart from the EBB. Would love sliding dropouts instead and this may just do the trick. Having said that, there is always the Ibis Tranny although that's a bit more

Only found them in the USA but they are only $429.00 US plus freight makes it a fairly reasonable proposition in Aus dollars.

Havent found anywhere in Aus that does a quality straight forward steel singlespeed frame with a sliding or horizontal dropout that I like. Most of the SS frames I want come with an EBB which I really dont want to get in to.

I know there is the Surly Karate Monkey and Soma Juice but they just dont inspire me like this frame does.

Curently have a Kona Unit 2-9 with sliding drop out and it works a treat and is an awesome ride but I would like to build another slightly more race orientated bike for the solo 24hr at Easter.

Yeah the Ibis tranny is a lot I would get a Baum if I had that sort of cash.
