Sparrow Hill?
There was quiet some discussion going on about Sparrow Hill here... that thread has been moved below, which started by Paul:
Bernd mentioned the Sparrow Hill near Canberra was also a great place to ride – anyone up for a day trip sometime in the future? From the sound of it, Sparrow is lots of singletrack like Ourimbah, but amongst the pine cones. Works for me.

Sparrow hill is a good three hour drive away and with petrol the way it is it may be worth making an overnighter of it. Ride both days and if you pack the lights in you could also do a great night ride. Yes I would be very keen for this but would need plenty of notice to get fit enough for that amount of riding. The standard loop is over 22k but it can be lengthened a little or shortened to what ever you want as you are constantly crossing logging roads as you pass from one stand of pine trees to another.

yes, I think a overnight one would be better,
I can only fit about 11 bike's in my Van!!!
plus a 3h drive after riding like we did on Sat. would not be easy...
for me anyway....

Time to get off your curvy butt, and back on your new bike, and join the force
you will be surprised how easy 22km is. Don’t forget only half of it is uphill!
I can't agree more, a trip 3.5 hrs from Sydney definitely requires a cheap motel over night so we can get in at least two day rides and one night ride. (if only)
The October long weekend is out for me but I am keen for others to throw up tentative dates (so we can give our collective misuses plenty of notice, sorry and concerned hubby’s)
I don’t know how far Sparrow Hill is from Majura Pines but maybe we could fit in both?

Sparrrow Hill sounds like fun - I am happy for a night away or for a day trip daylight savings would be ok if we left early...
