I'm considering a purchase from Wiggle.co.uk (has to be here, no-where else).

Ordering ASAP!

Anyone want 60-ish bucks worth of gear to get the free shipping?

Update: Order is now closed. Tien, Buck, Cupcake - got all your goodies Smiling

Is free with that product anyway... (FREE DELIVERY on most orders over $214.00)

Hmmm - I think I 'need' one too!
Cool

Don't helmets need to meet Australian standards for races?

But its just for training rides so doesnt really matter.

Or equivalent.. usually says 'or equivalent'. If you buy a helmet from o/s that is exactly the same as one from here you should be golden...

my giro was bought from jenson, and i wear it in every race i've been in.

"Helmet compliance is as noted in the policy on helmet standards compliance acceptance issued by MTBA from time to time. At the time of printing the list is:
AS/NZ 2063
ANSI Z90.4
Snell "B" or "N" series
ASTM F-1447
Canadian CAN/CSA-D113.2-M
U.S. CPSC standard for bicycle helmets
European CEN standard for bicycle helmets (EN1078)
Full-face helmets are compulsory (for DH) and body armour and other protective gear are strongly recommended for use in all downhill and mountain cross events."

I was informed by my road club that this year CA has ruled that only AUS approved helmets are allowed in racing (as Brian noted). It doesn't matter if your Giro/Met/Bell/Whatever all comes from the same point of manufacture, if it doesn't have the AUS sticker you won't be allowed to race i.e. if they check at the rego table. If you do still race you won't be covered by insurance i.e. in the event of an accident.

I'm not sure if this will filter into MTB seeing as MTBA is an affiliated association with CA or whether this will have any impact on races like DW, AD & the Fling.

Any race that is on a road (or road related area) will require a AS helmet. so DW, Fling etc require an AS helmet.

In addition most club xc racing will also require an AS helmet as a requirement due to land owner requirements or the fact that they are often in areas that are road related areas and we don't have the man power to ensure complete closure.

As an official if I was going to check I'd do it on the start line, you'd be DQed and prevented from starting.
