Shorter Stem

im thinking of changing my stem to a much shorter one. Broke my arm and now doesnt straighten, so i cant grab the bars comfortably. I've heard it increases the handling.

Is this true? any other advantages or disadvantages?

I went from a 80mm stem to a 40mm stem. I found it to feel more direct. Although the downside is my weight has shifted rearward slightly.

Have you tried moving your seat forward a bit?

i havent tried that, ill give that ago. Cheaper than buying a new stem aswell
