I was planning on racing there Sunday but as the weather is looking increasingly dodgy for Saturday night/Sunday morning I'm going to do a few laps Saturday arvo.

The pace will be a consistent social pace although I might have a go at the hot lap challenge that was just set up Eye-wink

The Oaks
Meeting Point:

Glenbrook station carpark.

-33.769197, 150.622262 (Glenbrook Station Carpark)

This will be my last hit out before the Bottlebutt the following weekend. I will be catching the 8:23am train from Glenbrook and arriving at Woodford at 8:53am. From there my plan is to head down to Bedford Creek, up Ingar, then down Andersons back to the top of the Oaks, stop for water and then down the the Oaks back to the car. It's 77km with about 1500m climbing and 1800m descending so on average it's down hill Eye-wink. I'm thinking this would be around 4 hours once heading off from Woodford.

There's 3 Hot Laps Challenges in this ride so lets see how we go Eye-wink

Sydney Olympic Park Training ride

When:
Sunday, 24 July, 2011 - 08:00
Meeting Point:

Meadowbank Ferry wharf

End of Bowden Street Meadowbank

This is an MTB training ride designed to get the legs spinning after a week out of action with rain. I plan to cover around 40K at an average pace of 20+ Km/h, so reasonable pace. Unfortunately all will be on roads or cycle paths in and surrounding Sydney Olympic Park, but it sure beats a spin class if the weather breaks.

When:
Sunday, 24 July, 2011 - 08:00
Meeting Point:

Corner of Rodborough and Warringah Roads, Frenchs Forest

With the crap weather forecast through into the weekend, I'm going to take my normal commute route that I haven't done for awhile and turn it into an out-and-back loop to Sydney Olympic Park. Total distance will be 55 km or so,plus wharever the Olympic 4X circuit is, conditions permitting (so fit your fat tyres!).

Apart from some stints on Warringah Road, Babbage/Boundary and the very short Victoria Road section, this is on roads with manageable traffic or suburban streets, and forms my midweek commute when working at SOP.

Ride Database Entry:
Winmalee
Meeting Point:

End of White Cross Rd, Winmalee, NSW. There's a small parking area here but it's a standard suburban street so overflow isn't a problem.

My riding buddy Craig and Myself are heading out for a bit of a training ride around Winmalee in the morning. We are meeting at the Whitecross carpark. Starting with a run along Shaw's Ridge, down the fast and loose descent into Bluegum Swamp then up the beast that is Bee's Nest to the lookout. From there we heading along Springwood Ridge, down the really steep technical descent into the Grotto. Then we'll hang a left and ride through Bluegum in reverse, back up the grinding Shaw's hill, along Shaw's Ridge in reverse.

Great North Road Training Ride - Take 2

Haven't been up there since the infamous Easter Monday GNR Training Ride over Easter (http://nobmob.com/node/20709)

Looking to do around 50 k's at a fairly brisk pace - more of a training ride rather than social. Heading out GNR about 25 km out and back, return via Shepherds Gully descent, then back along the road to the ferry.

Lets keep fingers crossed for some sunshine on this ride ! Smiling

I'm also testing a new bike for the Husky so I might be a little bit slower.
