Womerah Range Training Ride

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

As discussed in the DW thread, reckon it would be a good idea to go get some training in on these hills. Especially the big climbes on the Womerah Range.

Anyone interested? Proposed dates? How about last two weekends in March? How about aiming for March 22/23 Oops... Easter, how about March 15/16?

I would propose to meet at the West (turn left, not right bottom of the hill) ferry and leave cars there, riding the 5Km or so to bottom of the climb so as to be warm for that. Then ride the Womerah Range trail.

Cascades - Quarry Track Climb

Ride Database Entry:
Cascades
Exact Distance:
0.66Km

One for the mountain goats. Start your timer crossing the creek bottom of the Quarry trail (on the right, here) and stop it when you get to the first gate.

This is about 90 metre vertical climb in 660m distance, nice little sprint and great for training, rinse and repeat! Eye-wink

Fancy riding just over 300m vertical in around 2Km distance? Ouchie!

Cox's Alternate Junction

Three distinct routes from the Mt York peninsular to Hartley Valley below - two single track and a third fire trail make for a few combinations with one thing in common - the 250 vertical metre drop. This is steep, and on occasion, very tricky stuff.
