Well sure the wind was strong enough to blow a dog off it's chain but still a great night for a ride if you could find shelter from the wind.
And a couple of my old favs were on the hit list.
First up a gentle cruise up Hassans Walls before linking up the Ewok and Townhouses trails.

And then, feeling energised it was back up for a run down Ch6

Even a little chopped up by motos and with the occasional branch across the track it's still grin factor +10

They emerged from the darkness under the big sky of the Newnes Plateau. The milky way blazing in the crisp clear Autumn air.

Godlings on demon steeds. The 4 winds of time. They met on the plateau in a place know to some as Bungleborri camp, some as Nine Mile Cabin and yet others as Forestry Hut, the whatever cabin or hut had once stood there had long ago been eaten but the march of time.

It's been ages since I've ridden the the Enduro loop[1] so, being a beaut morning I decided to skive off work and go for a ride. I couldn't be bother contending with the coldness of the creek so opted to ride up the road[2] rather than the short cut up waterworks gully. This was fairly boring, I didn't even have any truck try and squish me as I plodded up Scenic Hill.

Finally I got the the Zig Zag car park and headed on to the dirt of Newnes Forest Rd. A bit more pedaling brought me to a bit of single track that I thought was a short cut to the start of the run down to the MotoX track...

Meeting Point:

From Lithgow head on the Western Highway toward Bathurst. After 10-11Km you will head uphill and see thick pine forest to the right. It's dual carriageway here, and there's a right turn across the other lane into Forest Ridge Drive (signposted and a sealed road). About 50m on the left there's a turning where you can park in the shade. There's also an old concrete section of the highway just past there with masses of parking.
