Keen to Enter a Team for the Mont 24 This Year

Hi Guys,

Some of my mates have already entered this event and the ones that haven't are too unreliable. I am keen to enter in a team of 4 for this years Mont at Sparrow Hill. So are there any groups out there looking for anotehr compeditor, or are the 3 others like me looking to join a group.

I would probably rate myself intermediate at distance riding and will train for the event.

I do like Beer and sleep at these events too.

Ride the Bird in 2009!

Hey! Welcome to the MONT 24 Hour Race, a classic weekend of mountain biking with mates and is a must-do event for first timers and hardened mountain bikers alike.

We invite you to enter a team of four, six or more riders and fly around Sparrow's flowing single track with huge grins on your faces. While there’s plenty of ‘racing’ to be had, the MONT also enjoys a pretty laid-back atmosphere and our dedicated event management team and fantastic sponsors are there to see you have a good time, on or off the track.

Seems like the 2009 Mont will be in 4-5 April at Sparrow Hill. This should be fun. I quite enjoyed Sparrow. Very fast flowing singletrack.

Mont Morning

Let's start by saying first off that the Mont experience was a blast, and I'm definitely up for another 24 hour race next year.

Why it's necessary to start that way is that my report isn't a glowing rave about the weekend, but that's only because a number of rather silly episodes meant the cherry topped icing was missing from my Mont cake. Still, a tasty cake it was, so let's quickly summarise then zap through the events of the weekend (from a rather Rob'd slant - see Mont 24 Hour Wrap for more angles).

Summary

So here's how NoBMoB-ish teams managed:

MONT-y Python, 34 laps, 32nd/68 in Open Six Male
NoBMoB Monties, 31 laps, 47th/68 in Open Six Male
Team UFO, 17 laps, 66th/68 in Open Six Male

NoBMoB, 36 laps, 11th/47 in Open Six Mixed
NobMob Soft Shocks, 27 laps, 42nd/47 in Open Six Mixed

What a weekend. Home now, completely buggered. Bring on next year? Laughing out loud

Please comment here (or in your blog, or in another event topic) on your experiences otherwise am sure the main thread will become overcrowded.

Majura Pines

Hey you!

You look like you need a practice ride around Majura Pines before completing The Mont 24hr. Smiling So here you go...

This will be especially useful for those that have never been to Majura before. This will let you get used to the feel of the place. And with good reason too... Majura is totally awesome!! Laughing out loud It will take some serious discipline on race day to not stop on your lap and do the jumps and roll offs.
