Lost iPod shuffle Terrey Hills
I lost my iPod shuffle on the 27th Feb, when fixing my chain in the drizzle on the long trail, I think Whisper helped fix the chain... I might have left it just to the left of a waterbar on the outward journey on the long trail, just down from the short steep climb/decent... If any riders have seen it in a little round black case (good colour..not!) please let me know.
I might have also dropped it at the coffee shop car park... or a number of places that day! but this is worth a shot.
Cheers

The Oaks update for 07 Mar
A nice traffic line most of the way now. A couple of the hills starting to get loose again in places. Riding up you get to see closely just how many jagged little rocks are embedded in the track. And the sniggle's always been like that. So a good place to have reasonable pressure in the tyres, or a few spare tubes.

Lefty shock service
Its a cliche, yes but I'm too petrified of disassembling my lefty shock to send it into dirtworks or cannondale
Anyone know of a LBS that specialises in dale's?

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 07 Mar
YRP is still in great shape after the recent 4 Hour (20 Feb) and Club race (6 Mar). It will need some trimming of the grass on the track edges soon - and WSMTB will be doing some track work on Sat 26 March (8.30am - see www.wsmtb.com for details).
As always, please give YRP a few days to dry out after heavy rain - thanks.

Cycling The Lights - Duck, Centre & Long
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Although we don't normally ride this trail on it's own, with a bit of road work it makes a nice loop from Terrey Hills shops (on Booralie Road) then onto Centre Track and back along the road to the shops.
That's the same as the more standard Terrey Hills rides.
Need to get some time on the dirt under lights for the upcoming Mont and Solo Nationals so a bit of Friday night riding is the go.
This is a training ride with the emphasis on ride (it is not a race, smash fest or a chance to post a hot lap) the pace should be moderate with no stopping.
I intend to do Duck then Centre and finish with Long so in other words a nice training ride.
You will need lights.
Home mechanic help
In the vain effort of trying to improve my mechanical skills I am slowly rebuilding a bike. In this I have just put in a new set of XT cranks and bottom bracket – seemed easy enough. Although I did have to tap the crank with a wooden mallet to pop it through the BB. Not a big wack, just a gentle tap – is this usual? It seemed to be just getting the end to clear through – this was also the case when not on the bike so I am happy things are square.
Trying hard on the 29er
Went out on a training ride, warmed up by riding up to Terry Hills from Frenchs Forest, and doing a hot'ish lap of the Centre and duck holes first (32:34).
Went hard, but never seemed to get into my rhythm. It just wasn't a day to be riding a hard tail, and I'd dropped the pressures too low - 25 psi front and 24 rear. Even so, went hard and pushed the big ring (funny how it's even harder to keep it in the 'big dog on a 29er), but the extra traction I was getting from the low rear tyre pressure helped on the pinches, even though it was a bit squirrely drifting around the fast sweepers.
High 35! Less than 1 minute to hit my target!
Felt really good today...bike running well after giving it a tweak yesterday... even got cadence working again. Rear tyre pressure low though...lost some time worrying about that.
Didn't push to hard on Heart break hill today. Think that gave me the legs to push on the fire trail to the single trail. Felt good up the hills to the golf course... OK.. I tried to push through the posts onto the golf course road... and did catchup my hand and go OTB.... only lost 15 seconds though
