Boulton Road, Paterson.
Big changes are afoot for this round. We will be taking the show on the road and heading to Paterson for a 3 hour race. This will be one of the few opportunities to ride the track prior to the Paterson Kona 24 and should offer a great morning of racing.
Rego Opens at 7:30am, closes at 8:30am for a 9am Start.
Pre race registration is available by emailing Steve the poinstscore officer: scpryor@optusnet.com.au
We STRONGLY suggest you use this to help minimize queues on race day.
HMBA XC Round 2
Round 2. They made us do the red loop today adding 6km from last round and including Camelback Climb.
I started mid pack and didn't smash myself at the start this time. I was happy just sitting back as it felt like we were doing a decent pace without totally smashing myself which I find is a very fine line for me. I averaged 175bpm for the whole race which is 89% of my max HR.
I can't remember being passed this round which was good. It will be interesting where I came and how many riders there were as it looked like a decent turn out (108 riders)
Position after Lap 1 - 17
soo much fun
1st time i have been there. So much fun great course. This was my second lap

Tour de Lane Cove Valley
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
First carpark on your right after you enter Pennant Hills Park
This is a 35-40km ride that covers the full length of the upper Lane Cove Valley, from Pennant Hills to West Pymble. By linking up trails with a few short road sections I've come up with a 3-hour ride with very little backtracking. Mostly firetrail with a bit of singletrack. Not too technical, but a lot of short steep climbs (some very steep!). Some very rocky trails and loose/ sketchy descents - this is not a beginners ride. If you love hills, join me!
Pennant Hills Park is a 2-minute ride from Pennant Hills train station.
Epic Garigal Training Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Corner Warringah Rd and Forest Way, Frenchs Forest, south end of the pedestrian bridge
A 60-70km training ride in preparation for the Willo & Mont.
Takes in some really sweet technical single track, double track and fire road, tied together by a few road sections.
Start at Forest Way, and enter Red Hill at the top via Brooker Avenue (Beacon Hill). This takes us in at the top, and gives a decent run down to the rim trail. Round the Rim, and back onto the main loop, where we continue round and drop down to Wakehurst Parkway at the pumping station.
Stronger up the hills... PB with the Garmin
Good time but not a great run... missed both the stairs... didn't have the legs or concentration to hit them properly.... still happy with the time and on my way to 35 minute goal time.
Mental gates... more for my interest when looking back
Parkway to the creek; 1:40
Top of Heart Break hill; 3:34
Top of single trail; under 9:58
Hydro lab; 16:15
School; under 19:27

Back to Parkway; 36:59
Manly Dam update for 26 Feb
Perfect conditions... apart from the group of runners going the wrong way on the Parkway single trail.....

Hornsby Shire trails - support needed
Support needed from riders in the Hornsby area. Some planned trail building in the Hornsby Shire has been put on hold due to the usual ill-informed local lobbying of council, causing them to backflip on plans to build XC trails in the area. Email from HSMBA below, with ways to help out if you're interested.
Hi Fellow Singletrack Activists,
Happy New Year and we trust you had a relaxing festive season since our last update.
Sadly we have some terrible news.
Wildflower Garden update for 25 Feb
Rode both the upper and lower sniggle from St Ives showground today. Seems to be getting quite a bit of mtb traffic. All good on the upper track. The lower track still has a couple of seepage spots from the old tip (gun club) area, but someone has been doing some rock work to enable riders to stay out of the worst bits. Bravo. Just need a few switchbacks built to replace the two rocky fire trail climbs on the way back to the showground
