Took this shot looking back at a relatively clear section of the track while we waited for one of the locals to convert his dually into a single speed. His xtr derailer came off second best with one of the many rock gardens. Its not clear from this shot however one of the bumps on the horizion is the Francis and a guy from north Queensland who got the job of volunteering to assist. The guy from Queenslander looked cold when they finally got going again and caught up.

A "Social Ride" in the Victorian Alps
With all the flooding in the lead-up to this event I was skeptical about getting to the start line. When a storm dumped 100+ ml of rain on Wednesday evening before the event the organisers sent out an email Thursday morning saying they would check the course and make a call the next afternoon.
