Official Notice

this shows some nice red lines, but there is no text regarding the red line from Linden Observatory to the Dam Top Gate.

a better notice

this is way back on the main rd, just off the highway
would save some time on not going up to the observatory.

still no access to the dam.
no general access to the firetrails.

SCA cyclist approved area past the observatory, so its ok to cycle up.
there are some nice garmin / mapmyride trails of things to do past the gate.

locked gate

big locked gate next to the Linden Observatory.
not real big on the notices for the whys and where-fores though.

this is very nice tarred road, so it must be water board, SCA, catchment are above the East lip of the dam.
I'll chase this up soon.

a walking track area parking option

One of the on-track parking areas.
This one has the old main map of the area too.

but it's not a cycle area, just noticed this is not one of the red line areas on the SCA map.
you could cycle back up and east to Woodford Ave, but methinks the locals are somewhat against the use of their precious walking track by bicycles, some of the signs are gone.
