sustagen vs endura optimizer (sic)

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on which is better for a post ride drink.

Sustagen is way cheaper (20$ for 900grams vs. $57 for 1400grams) and has more protein, but less carbs. I know the carbs are important for glycogen replacement but at that price though I could drink twice as many without the guilt.

Royal National Park Out And Back

When:
Wednesday, 30 September, 2009 - 19:45

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Royal National Park
Meeting Point:

Usually Loftus Oval, Sutherland, just off the Princes Highway.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Going to ride the popular out and back trail, with a small loop thrown in, from Loftus Oval to Heathcote.

There’s plenty of fast flowing single track, a bit of fire trail and a couple of challenging hills thrown in. Pace will be medium (well for me medium, someone else may think it’s slow) and there will be limited stops.

Terrain isn’t too tricky, but good lights will be needed.

Be good to see you there.

Dual SquidLED

The slight patch of grey seen on the left of the top connecting tube is where metal epoxy (Arctic Alumina) squeezed out. Aside from that the external finish is very good.

SquidLED Front/Rear

The thick black wire on the right there is nothing to do with the design... it's just there to balance them at the same height (due to switch/socket on back of the other side of that set).

SquidLED Internals

All wired and ready for light head installation.

I wired this with solid core CAT5 inner which should be fine for signal wire and current to LEDs (700mA tops). However, the input current draw could be over twice that so there are 2 cores from the power socket to controller. Just in case you're counting the wires and spotting 2 too many.

GT Outpost Trail

my trusty old purple GT mtb, still shiny, has shark worn sprocket teeth
and despite being bought at my LBS, the LBS mechanic says he has seen other GT bikes in the area but never the particular hub/cluster that is on my bike (519 rims)

I've not seen how it mounts so I dunno but any suggestions on should i get the same cluster despite or is a new hub and respoke the old rim to it is not really that difficult to do ?

or just buy a new wheel ready to go ?

also, i'd like a better first gear (Bedford Creek) or convert it to a 9 speed ?
