Insurance
What’s the going rate for insuring a $5,000 bike, per year? My current insurer has just quoted $375.
Also, any recommendation for a quote?
Price of an unhealthy nation: $18 billion
More evidence that any sport (and preferably cycling
) has a massive unseen benefit to the economy:
NEARLY 90,000 Australians will suffer a heart attack or serious chest pain this year, costing the economy about $18 billion in lost productivity and treatment, a report says.
...improved diet and exercise regimes and further investment in treatment and rehabilitation were critical in reducing the potential losses to the economy.
Fingers crossed Night Ride no longer @ Manly Dam Now at Terrey Hills
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Terrey Hills Tavern. Park on the road to avoid putting pressure on the management.
Note due to the condition of the dam, this ride has been moved to Terrey Hills.
We'll still meet for a 7:30 start, and do a quick lap of Duckholes and Center.
The quest to upgrade to a duallie...
Having read the previous threads on Asylum's quest for a Trance, unfortunately I'm going to have to raise it again.
Been riding about a year now with practice rides around the Dam and more recently, Ourimbah, Appin and Yellomundie.
So a love for single tracks with a thing for smashing through downhill sections at speed, is what we ride.
Now we have the three of us wanting to upgrade to a duallie after been riding hardtail Avanti and Apollo's all this time.
Demo'd a Cannondale Rize with the Lefty and other than the issues with the gear shifts, it was a sweeeet ride.
Thurday Night Ride for Supporters of the MIGHTY (lost cause) BLUES
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Terrey Hills Tavern
For all you people that were glued to the TV in support of the blues, or if you couldnt make Wednesday's ride for any reason - dont despair! I propose a night ride doing Duckholes and Centre Track on Thursday night, returning in time for Food and beer at the Tavern.
Come one come all... Even Queenslanders I suppose.
An afternoon of fun at Menai
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
By the sports field on Old Illawarra Road, Barden Ridge.
Looking to take the new bike for a run out Saturday afternoon.
It will be more of a stop, start and rerun on some of the technical trails and in the free ride areas, compared to my usual socail ride.
Beginners will find this tuff going and reasonable bike skills will be needed. (And before Delicious adds a comment, yes I haven't the skills needed and I'll probably fall off a couple of times.)
If we get heavy rain between now and then I'll probably cancel. I'll update Friday evening.

Similar Trails Like Manly Dam?
Hello,
I'm new to the area but have been riding Manly Dam weekly now for the last 2 months and starting to get bored with it. Wondering if there are any similar trails around the area (up to an hour away from Sydney) that compare to Manly Dam? I'm not a big fan of fire roads but love single tracks. Looking for any trails that are about the same or more technical than Manly Dam? I tried searching but didn't really come up with much. Any advice on some new trails I could check out would be appreciated. And if it's a confusing trail, meeting up and having someone show me the trail would rock.
so the bike is still getting some use.
