Manly Dam update for 15 Aug
Some slop after the creek crossing and after Primary school but all good. Last time I was at the Dam it was sketchy and nasty well that was a while ago - it's been pretty well smoothed out. Just cruising and PR's coming out of nowhere

Canberra places to stay?
Can anyone recommend good places to stay for a couple of nights in Canberra? Me and 3 or 4 mates are heading down in mid Sept. Riding the usual trails – Stromlo, Majura and Kowen. Looking for mtb friendly place: secure bike storage or bike allowed in room; bike wash space 'd be a bonus; affordable.

Lane Cove National Park update for 11 Aug
Rode from Day Rd to Browns Waterhole today and it is all good with only one major puddle, a little water in one creek crossing and a few patches of mud that you can easily skirt.
But there was a sign on Day Rd saying that there will be a hazard reduction burn in the LNCP tomorrow.

New 27.5 tire recommendations
Hi,
I'm currently running maxxis Ardent on the rear and Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evo on the front, tubeless on my Giant Trance 27.5 1
The issue I'm having is the last two rides I have done including a nice steep rocky section at the convict 69 km into the race my front has either burped or blown throwing me over the bars using my hip and a rock to stop and with that confidence is going down as you focus on your front expecting it to happen any second again and two weeks in a row just seems strange.
Convict 100 2015
Hard to believe that this was my 6th time racing the Convict, where does the time go!
Just prior to the original date of this race I spent 2 weeks in Europe, snowboarding and belatedly celebrating my 40th birthday. That 2 weeks, as enjoyable as it was, had set me back in terms of training and readiness for the original date and so I wasn’t unhappy when the event was cancelled due to the storms that we had at the time.
Fast forward a few months and training had been going well despite very limited time on the MTB due to the run of wet weather.
