Wanted- Post mount front disk brake caliper and lever
I'm converting my SS hardtail back to gears for the Gong ride, and since changing the fork have not run a front brake.
The new fork only has post mounts, and hence I am looking for a cheapy second hand disk brake to suit. I'll consider anything really, but would prefer hydraulic.
I can't justify getting new gear as I really only use this bike for chasing my kids around the streets.
Anyone who has anything PM me or call my mobile which is on my profile.
TIA,
Nick

New gate near St Ives Showground
I often do a great training ride from the Cascades to St Ives showground and back. I went today and things were going well until I got to the fire trail that leads up to the back of St Ives showground (Just after the left hand turn off the Wildflower Gardens asphalt bike path). Unfortunately, there is now new a full length locked gate and neither walkers or riders can get through.
Does anyone know anything about this gate - ie. why it is there? Anyone else use that fire trail? Finally, anyone know any contact details of people involved in putting this gate in?
Cheers,
Vandelay
Imagine you have only ONE bike. What is it?

sandpaper + disc brakes = ??
Hi all,
i recently purchased Avid Juicy 7 Carbons with new 8" rotors and i broke them in slowly never really slamming on the brakes.
I was told that they may have 'baked' the pads, as i should have been braking hard to break in the discs and pads.
It was suggested that i take out the pads and sand them down a bit with a find grain sandpaper and do the same to the discs.
Is this a good/bad thing to do?
anybody else have experience in this area?
Totally different question as well: which pads are best: organic, metallic or ceramic?
thanks
