SCA to Review MTB Access in Catchments

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Some good news... remember SCA Management Regulation review (discussed here)?

I was at first very disappointed to see that last Friday the legislation on SCA access was gazetted and appears to have no change on MTB access (the gazette is here - see page 374 onwards).

Then today, a rather promising press release from the Minister for water (see attached PDF).

Basically it looks like the SCA will be performing a full community consultation on MTB access. Stay tuned for that. Smiling

Enduro SL 25mm front hub alternatives

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi Guys,

New on the Nobmob Forum and hopefully somebody might be able to help.

I want to get a new/stronger wheel-set for my SL however, due to the 25 thru axle, I will need to:
- Buy a new 25mm front hub from Specialized and then relace the front wheel which might result on a very expensive exercise OR,
- I can convert a 20mm casing into 25mm by changing bearings and washers.

Convert the casing from 20mm to 25mm is possible and I have found and been provided with information and instructions from the following MTBR Forum:

3 bikes stolen

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well, here's my first post. And it's not a happy one. I have had a look through this site and I was planning on trying to meet up with you for some riding. I'll have to put that on hold now because last night my downhill bike, my wife's downhill bike and her cross country bikes were stolen. They spray-painted over the cameras outside the building and forced their way into our undercover garage. My wife's bike is the biggest deal to us, as she accepted that from me instead of an engagement ring. Here's the details of the stolen rides:

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest
Meeting Point:

North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.

The Sydney Spring Fat Tyre Festival presented by JP Morgan and Kona is an exciting one day mountain bike race being held at Ourimbah State Forest approximately 100km north from the heart of the Sydney CBD.

Ourimbah has been well known for its cross country track and downhill courses for some time, and thanks to the efforts of the Central Coast Ourimbah MTB Club the trails are looking better than ever.
