Crazy 1930/40s bike inventions
Look at that tandem where one rider is cycling normally and the other is in a 'bent position sitting right over the bars (about 14 seconds in, and you see them riding later).
In the second segment, the crazy old dude is saying to the chick, "It's like this, dear all you have to do is make sure the pedals are flat then step onto this 50" wheel like so...".
I like the crazy race where some sprinter is towed in a trailer by tandem riders and has to leap out at checkpoints along the way and get a stamp or something.
Sunday Arvo Training Ride [Terrey Hills]
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Starting near the Japanese School (off Booralie Rd, at the corner Echunga / Durunbil Rd) to avoid any muddy bits...Easy to find - just look for the carpark at the end of Echunga Rd)
The sun is back today - finally!
Only 2 weeks to the Angry Doctor race - last chance for some training!
I'm going for a spontaneous Terrey Hills training ride on Sunday arvo, starting from the Japanese School on Booralie Rd (Terrey Hills) ~ 2 PM. Riding Perimeter Trail & Long Trail (approx 20 km's return). If we feel up to it, we might do 2 laps / extended version.
According to the NoBMob weather maps the track appears to be RELATIVELY DRY and un-affected by recent rains.
SMS or call me on 0408-123680 if you need more info.

Down Hill at Menai (Lucas Hights)
I have been riding with some of you a couple of times at Menai and did a few laps after that with some mate doing a loop around 20KM. Today we found a very well maintained downhill tack with 3 different runs.
I just had my XC gear so did the easiest run a couple of time and loved it. It had some big burms the whole way down with some nice drops and a couple of small gap jumps that I hit. Only down fall is there is no shuttles, but there is a walking track back up.
If you are more HardCore there are some very challenging bits.
Apping Sunday Morning Training Ride?
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Corner Burke & Market St, Appin. There's a small parking area here at the trail head. If lost ask local for the fire station and Scout Hall.
Proposing 3 laps of approx 10km each. For some 2 might be enough. Training ride at medium pace. Quick stops at end of each lap to refuel. Fairly technical in places so some experience is required. Awesome track with "no boring bits".
Late notice leave pass so sorry for late posting.

Dicky Knees and Hills
Not quiet as advertised, but the ride today was still certainly a hill fest - 1724m in 66.7Km. That ratio would certainly be much better for the first 50Km though - if only MB would give these stats per lap.
Changes were made because once we got moving the consensus was that Cascades & behind the Wildflower garden would be a bit too wet so we hit up all the trails on West Head to Towlers and back. Yes, even Elvina on the way back - the gang loved it when some mad fool peeled off down there. Oh yeah - and a quick up and down Chiltern too, just for good measure.
