The Oaks Maintenence Day?
So... we met a ranger just as we were finishing The Oaks yesterday. Right after the technical section of the sniggle that leads back to the road.
We had a small chat and the ranger was saying how they know that part of the trail is getting quiet badly eroded and needs some work. Apparently there's a new staff member coming along in the next couple of weeks who will be looking after this. I told the dude about and have spoken to Terracare.
The Night Rider
I went on my first night ride on Sunday night. After mucking about with the bits and pieces, and getting my bike all set up, I found this totally alien to the normal bike riding I am used to during the day. I only rode the out and back at Terrey Hills, as I wanted to keep the first ride simple. Some observations I made about night riding:
Campsite near Ourimbah
Anyone got any suggestions of a campsite near the Ourimbah trails? (that isn't a caravan park!!!!)
A toilet block and running water are essential and also dog friendly is preferable so the 4 legged beasts can have a holiday too. Any recommendataions?
Big boys (and girls) Tuesday Dam Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Just posting the regular Tuesday jaunt since nobody else had! hopefully we can avoid injuy this time, though I am trying to psyche myself up for the Bantry Bay drop...

This doesn't beat my previous fastest time, but is worth posting anyhow, 'cos it was a solo effort. The other time was done with 3 other guys so there was drafting involved. That said, this is only 4 seconds slower. Damn! Would have tried harder if I'd known... quiet hard after riding up first!

I have one pair of Hayes Sole hydraulic disc brakes. Comes pre-bled and with 6" rotors. Came off my Giant Alias. Has about 600km of wear on them. I upgraded to Shimano Deore LX brakes. Take them for $90 for the lot. I'll throw in some spare pads that have never been used yet (if i can find them!) SOLD
