McCarrs Race Track
A lot of us here spend time at Terry hills and either riding it or driving it to get to a ride....Mccarrs Creek Road. Since the resurface it's attracting unwanted attention.
Beware out there for M/bikes, Hoons and now expect Highway Patrol

Central Coast Ourimbah Mountain Bike Club - Social Day with shuttles
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
Central Coast Ourimbah social ride day, shuttles will be provided so you can ride the XC or DH track, if you don't have a race license you can get a day license to use the shuttles.
I think I've been ripped off - really cheesed off!!!
I bought ay-up lights from user named marto71 who advertised on this site 3 weeks ago. After a few phone messages we agreed on a price and I paid via EFT, I was really looking forward to getting the lights as I planned to use them for the Mont 24hr race 2 weekends ago.
To date no parcel has ever arrived - he said his daughter was posting the items on Monday 20 Oct (should have been express post as advertised) reason he was late posting was because he needed to make sure everything worked but the ad stated they work perfectly fine and nothing wrong with them.
Where to base myself for mountain biking within 30 mins commute of Hornsby
Hi all,
I just landed a job today in Hornsby just near the railway station so I'll be moving back to the Northern Beaches which I'm stoked about.
Where would you live if you were in my shoes if access to good trails was your only consideration?
I've ridden Manly Dam a fair bit in the past and Oxford Falls/Red Hills.
I like cross country mostly with some descents chucked in occasionally.
Ideally I'd like somewhere I can be within a few minutes ride of to get to the trail head but only about 30 mins max commute from Hornsby.
Thanks,
Will
New Rim Needed
My rim has split and flared out it's a DT Swiss 4.1d and I need to replace it. Has anyone got any recommendations, obviously i would like to reuse the rest of the parts evidently the DT X425 is the same rim with new name. Other brand/rim suggestions? or should i stick with DT so i can reuse everything else.
Manly Dam update for 05 Nov
What a difference a week makes!
Lots of changes in the last week or two since I last did a normal lap.
All the dutch ladders are now gone except one last piece on the long climb section. All replaced by rock armouring.
They're building B lines around the two step ups - the one with the metal post they are building a line to the right of it next to the tree. And the step at the top of the old dutch ladder section, they have cut a deviation through the bush on the right to avoid it. Both not rideable yet.
The descent to the creek looks like they have scraped a lot of the loose sand off and built a couple of new water bars. Still a little bit squirrelly in places but 90% of it now is just FAST!
On the other side, vomit hill is now a sandpit and almost impassable in places. I struggled up and got bogged halfway, then struggled up the next half. Last week it was like a road so I'm not sure what happened there. It looks like they dumped a truckload of sand on it in the last week. After that its just flat as a road all the way to the 19th hole....
Had a chat to the TrailScapes guys out working and they said Bantry Bay is VERY close now!
