Racing on Furious Fred?

Avertised at around 350g for a 29:er tyre got my attention.

Does anyone have experience using these at races? Will they work as a rear tyre at e.g. Ourimbah (assuming it is reasonably dry) without flats? Can they be setup as tubless or will it require massive amounts of sealant?

My concern is ripping a sidewall and the race is over but the weight is very attractive so if they do work then it could be the way to go.

Anyone who's been through this and can offer their experience?

Cheers!

Seat clamp size

Hi SILLY question....my saddle post width is 28.2. I want to purchase a new seat post clamp. Is this the size I buy or is it based on the frame tube diameter. This is one of the challenges of buying online....you need to get it right first time!
Thanks

Melrose Fat Tyre festival should be on everyone's bucket list!

It's on a gain this year for 4 days over the June long weekend (starting Friday).

I'm heading up from Adelaide on the Friday, so thought I'd see if anyone of the 'Mob' is coming over and would like some company (from an old NobMobber). I'll be camping there, and enjoying the big bonfires at night.

Terrey Hills update for 11 May

Status:
Green/Open

Surprisingly good today. A couple of big puddles in the usual spots, but otherwise fast and good traction.

Enter via Japanese School like we did rather than Nerang Rd to avoid the boggy bits.

which XC shoes?

My trusty old Shimano M087 shoes are nearing the end of their life so I'm wondering what people wear and/or recommend. I'm not stuck on Shimano shoes but they do have to take SPD cleats. My budget is max $200.

Awaba State Forest update for 11 May

Status:
Green/Open

A little rain overnight. I thought there might be some hero dirt.

Well, there wasn't this arvo. It was damp, but just too much damp for hero dirt. Most corners were a little slippery. Still, green & good to go.

Some of the bog holes have been drained by a trail fairy.
