Pivot bikes
Im contemplating upgrading from my current ride (a Giant Trance 29er) to a Pivot - I particularly like the idea of the long suspension travel, whilst maintaining rideability on hills they claim on the Firebird and Mach 5.7 models.
Is this fan fare media / advert hype or does the quality and build reflect what I assume would be a hefty price tag?
Have there been any reports of riders being attacked or trail sabotage at OMV?
I was riding at OMV today and towards the end of Turkey Royal I had a large branch fall in my path. I was lucky that the branch fell parallel to the trail so I essentially drove it down the track rather than went over it.
I got a shock when I looked at the GoPro footage because the branch moved very quickly.
Due to the speed and light conditions its not crystal clear however for 1-2 seconds the footage shows a large dead branch stationary on the upper side of the hill and just as I approach it violently rotates and flys out onto the trail.
St Ives sniggle
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
There's a large shoulder on Mona Vale Road (eastbound). A site setup for RBT near the single track start makes a good spot. At the Nursery park right where the single track starts
Heading out for a couple of hours tomorrow morning to test out the new stead. Probably a loop starting at the wildflower garden and ending up across the road coming up from Garigal. Not too fast as I'll be stopping now and then to dial in the shock/fork (well that's my excuse for bad riding anyway)

Excellent Tathra Trails !
Just spent a 3 nights in Tathra recently and just wanted to put it out there that this little beach town have some amazing trails that is well worth the 5-6hours drive from Sydney.
The trails have excellent flow and in need for some riders to ride them. Expect fast flowy section with lots of steep ride down the gully section on "the bridges" and "no second thoughts"

Blackbutt Reserve update for 24 Dec
No water at all and a good traffic line on most of the main run down from Vale St. Passed a group of young folk pre-loading on their way up to the Greengate for Christmas Eve, so watch out for broken glass at the Vale St end!!

Lane Cove National Park update for 24 Dec
Rode through from De Burgh's Bridge to (almost) top of Devlins this afternoon. Dry as I can remember it and a little loose in places with it. There's a tree down across the face of the water bar just before the Lucinda Ave exit. A bit of a challenge to ride over it on the way up, but downhill is pretty easy.
Did notice a few reindeer tracks and a bit of extra mistletoe around.... must be that time of year. Merry Christmas!!
