Mont 24 2013: How good was that?
It's amazing how much difference a little word makes sometimes. In my case, this year it is "lumens"
This year the lighting was much improved thanks to kind "sponsor" Ferei Lights Australia, who also bring in the German brand MyTinySun providing some vastly improved bar lights. Apart from a headcold a few weeks ago the training leadup was much better too.

Well I’d always wanted to do a 24 hr race and now I have. Part of a Brady Bunch team with Hawkeye, Hans and our three sons (sounds like I’m channelling old TV shows there….)
What we thought might have been a fairly social category was pretty hotly contested and our 16 laps were only good enough for 8th out of 8 teams!
James Estate MTB Trails

What a great spot, very picturesque valley bordering Wollemi National Park. This is location of Round 2 of the Rocky Trails Shimano Series.
Rode all the tracks including the newer tracks that will make up the race.(Some not shown in the video clip).

Great condition. Sandy in places but I presume it's always like that.
Met a few nice folk at the trail head, including a group of bush walkers who had just got back from walking the red loop and where just about to go again. At over 4 hours a lap, I'll stick to riding round!

Dry as a dead dingo's.....
Wildlife was in abundance at dusk last night, with a few kamikaze kangaroos on the trail.

Manly Dam update for 24 Mar
Still very much green. Dry and hot today - a couple of small puddles on the firetrail after the big hill, but otherwise very dry and dusty!
