Bit of mud about the place but overall nice and tacky. Thanks to to the trail workers for fixing the bridge near the drop off.

6th is an improvement..
So Saturday evening was the final round of the Camelbak WSMTB 4 hour, despite the rains the organisers were on the ball and communicating early to notify that the event was going ahead as planned.
Thanks again to all the volunteers, WSMTB really seem to have the organisation well oiled and ran perfectly.
I'd arrived early to have a practice lap based on advise from some riding friends. I'm glad that I did, just to know how to ride the rocky sections and get a feel for the high number of switchbacks.
Stuffing it for everyone Part 2
Hi all
An increasingly common question by a number of land managers is if they were to provide new single track how do they ban Strava racers from their tracks?
The ones that yell out Strava like its then a legitimate right to own the track. Not the riders just out for a ride. The problem is far greater than pre Strava days as there have always been fast riders.
This is a becoming a risk and liability concern as many trails have become race track.
Can the offenders be easily found or is there a degree of privacy possible that would prevent this?
Old Man's Valley update for 17 Feb
Very much green/open as of this afternoon. I think riders had issues this morning when there would have been a bit of due around on the wood sections. I think the trail drains really well as I didn't come across any muddy/boggy puddles that can be found on other trails in sydney at the moment. I would even argue that riding the trail in its present condition would do less wear and tear than if the trail was bone dry and dusty as the moisture is holding the soil together really well. Maybe early morning might have a due factor on the wood sections??
