Appin update for 22 Sep

Area:
Appin
Status:
Green/Open

Very dry and sandy in a few places. I definitely recommend a dry chain oil or wax.

The new sections have track have bedded in well since I last rode there at The Rock Wallaby. A well maintained and fun trail - Thanks to WMBC.

Ourimbah State Forest update for 22 Sep

Status:
Green/Open

The trails are absolutely beautiful! Nice and tacky after the recent light rain. I agree with previous comments that CCMTB do a fantastic job maintaining these trails. Perfect conditions.

Manly Dam update for 22 Sep

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

All Good - very quiet at 9am this morn.
No Birdy issues - I had my head down and waving my hand in front of my face and trouble free. A guy coming up the other way thought I was waving at him and waved back - mountain bikers are a friendly lot Smiling

Advice please after being hit by car

I was just riding roads linking up some trails and got cleaned up by a car at a roundabout. Luckily I am OK but bike is a different story. It's 2 weeks old and the rear wheel is buckled big time, the carbon framed is scratched to buggery, the RD is scratched and bent, handlesbars are all scuffed up and I am pissed off. Driver was sheidling eyes from the sun and just ran staright into me while looking in another direction.

Any lawyers/solicitors/experienced riders out there who can advise teh best course of action and how much I should be seeking eg repairs or full replacement???

Manly Dam update for 21 Sep

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Just did a loop. All good. Green status for sure - looks like a busy weekend coming up.

Whilst riding I started to compose a song which has the working title "The Ballad Of The Butcher Of Gibbs Street" and the first 3 lines (all I have so far) go like this...

I was riding round Manly Dam when I met
a man with blood on his nose who said
"f*&#@ Bird f%&^* s#$@@#$ c%^$# f#@#!"

Ironically I was swooped by The Butcher himself at about this point and completely lost my train of thought Shocked

So I'm open to suggestions for the lines to the rest of this song Smiling

Hi All, I need a lift down to the Kowalski on the Saturday - if you live on the Northern Beaches (I am in Beacon Hill) and can give me and my bike a lift that would be great (will contibute petrol and there is a case of beer in it too!) I have a lift back sorted.

Cheers

Dan
