Royal National Park update for 16 Sep
I've made this amber/some issues only because the sniggle section from Loftus sports oval through to Farnell Avenue (main road into the park) is still officially off limits to the public due to the bushfire prevention burnoff that has taken place recently. There are NPWS signs and tape up at all entrances to the trails saying so. Although I did speak to riders and walkers who said they are ignoring the signs and riding and walking the sniggle section regardless. The fire trail from Farnell Avenue to Engadine / Heathcote is open and thankfully, very dry.

My first snake of the season
Being the snake magnet I am I don't do as much riding alone anymore out in the bush. So yesterday I'm just riding along clocking up km on the cycle way behind Prospect Reservoir when I stumbled upon this dude wriggling across my path.

Stem....help please
Hi Folks,
My saddle and bars are at roughly the same level even though my stem is flipped and I have removed the spacers. I am keen to drop the handlebars to get more weight over the front wheel and guess the most logical way is to get a stem with more of an angle (mine is very little....on the Giant XTC 29er).
If anyone has a spare stem lying around that I could try for a couple of weeks, I would be very appreciative. I could then either buy it from you if it works well or return to you if you don't want to sell it (or if the angle is wrong).
Thanks
Ian
Yellomundee Regional Park update for 15 Sep
Nice and dry. Some parts of the park are closed due to erosion from the rains earlier in the year and are regenerating. Signs are displayed. Shame some of the more technical and challenging sections are closed off, presumably due to heavy erosion. A huge amount of Lantana has been cleared. Well done to those responsible.
