"Mountain Bike Backlash" Anti MTB article in Peninsular Living
Those who attended the NPWS consultation days last year may have noticed a small mousy woman asking you to sign a petition against mountain bikes.
It seems she has been pretty dogged with this over the last 6-8 months and has gathered 500 signatures by spending much of her weekends at local shopping malls. This has resulted in a 2-page spread in Peninsular Living this month. What follows is my proposed response.
You may wish to write to Peninsular Living, Brad Hazzard, and Warringah Councillors touching on similar themes.

Ourimbah State Forest update for 04 May
Rode this morning, most places are good. Some muddy patches here and there. The 'Lost forest' is a no go but the graveyard is rideable and should be good by the weekend with a bit of traffic on it.
Do you have more information?
If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

There doesn't seem to be heaps of information on the MTBA website, other than I know its at Stromlo and its on 10th June and the course is 88km in length from what I understand.

Fork Servicing Advice
I've recently noticed that there is a bit of play in my forks. As I've had the bike a year and never serviced the forks, I recon it's probably about time!
Being as though I do all the servicing myself, I thought I'd have a crack at this job too. From what I've read and watched on SRAM's you tube channel, it doesn't look like too much of a complicated job.
Before I get stuck in though, I have a couple of questions. (1) Are the bushes replaceable in my forks and (2) is it OK to go to a motorbike shop and get the shock oil from them as MTB oil ridiculously expensive for what it is?
Convict 100km - Are people going down Friday arvo or Saturday Morning?
Hi All,
If you are doing the 100km, what are you doing about getting there? Are you heading down on Friday afternoon or evening, or at the crack of dawn on Saturday (in which case don't forget there are road works on the M2 with 40km or so speed limits)???
When cycling is a pain in the bum
www.smh.com.au/executive-style/fitness/blogs/on-.... The right saddle is something that regularly comes up in discussions (and oh so important!) and this is a pretty good, simple article on the subject. Also mentions Blair Martin and Steve Hogg who I know a number of people have recommended to others on this site. In fact, I have an appointment with Blair lined up shortly.
