Oaks Single Track Closed

Just a heads up for those thinking of riding in the Blue Mountains: the Oaks single track has been closed by NPWS due to "...potential asbestos contamination". Doesn't appear to affect the rest of the trail though.
Full quote:
Glenbrook Single Mountain bike track will be closed due to potential asbestos contamination. Riders and walkers will not be permitted on the track during the closure. Woodford Oaks fire trail riders can continue down the Oaks fire trail to exit via Glenbrook. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, please contact the NPWS Richmond area office on (02) 4588 2400 or Blue Mountains Heritage Centre on (02) 4787 8877 or visit the NSW National Parks safety page for park safety guidelines.

Manly Dam update for 04 Sep
Trail was open, but probably needs to be closed.
A lot of mud and puddles, especially over cobblestone. Hopefully a few consecutive days of sunlight will dry it out.

Withdrawn: Giant Halo 2 - 2009
Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
I've have upgraded my rig to a Connondale and that is the only reason for sale. I purchased this bike new in 2009 and I did not get out as much as originally intended due to family commitments. I've kept the bike in excellent condition and it's only needed servicing few times. The paint job has only a few of the usual minor chips. All running gear is mechanically solid. This bike is ready to go!...
More then welcome for people to inspect and test ride.

All good, hardly any mud about at all.
I'd also like to dedicate my ride this morning to my Father In-law Brian who passed away in the early hours of this morning, RIP Mate.

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
The Ride Canberra site describes the main forest entrance as being the corner of Kowan Road and Sutton Roads. There is a parking area 5km into the forest along Kowan road with gates that may be locked. Call Canberra Connect (13 22 81) for the combinations or ride from Sutton Road for a warm up.
POSTPONED TO THE 16th of OCTOBER 2016
THE RACE
Now in its fifth year, the Kowalski Classic is a one-day showcase of the famous trail network of East Kowen Forest and Sparrow Hill. The event celebrates the achievements of local trail builders Paul Cole, Alan Anderson and the award winning Kowalski Brothers Trailworks (our trail building crew), who together have hand built over 110km of flowing trail in East Kowen (the Kow) & Sparrow Hill (the Bird).
