I was considering participating in the Back Yamma Big Foot. Whats the flora / fauna like? Have you guys seen many interesting animals during this event?

Rydal near side loop

Ride Database Entry:
Rydal

A lap of the extended loop on the near side

This is a loop of the usual trails on the near side.
The far end "Kempies come back" does cross private land. At the moment the owners are fine with us using it so long as it is respected. That said it is up for sale

Hassans Walls Plan of Management. Rider input needed

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

When I first joined the club it was because a Plan of Management was being purposed for Hassans walls reserve and I wanted to make sure we had rider input. That fell to the wayside but it's back on the agenda now andI need your help to ensure riders have their voices heard.

Lithgow council have engaged Gondwana Consulting Pty Ltd to consult interested parties and prepare a draft plan.

I have had dealing with Gondwana before when the worked on the Mt York PoM where we successfully lobbied to have the "Walking trails" re branded "Multi use trail" and thus approved for riding

Rydal update for 11 May

Rydal

Amber/Some Issues

G’day fellas,

We completed our stage 1 hazard reduction burn at Lidsdale State Forest last week. The burn was reasonably successful, but there are still patches of unburnt land. As always happens at a fire some trees were burnt enough to make them dangerous. Many of these trees fell during the burn; some have not fallen, and may not for some time. I have assessed the burn this week; after strong winds on Monday and Tuesday I believe that those trees that would fall as a result of the fire have already fallen. However, branches or partially burnt trees can remain dangerous if hung up in neighbouring trees, and may still fall without warning.

I have re-opened the roads around the burn perimeter for public access.

Craig, I did not follow any of the MTB tracks within the block to assess for dangerous trees. Please advise your club members of the threat of dangerous trees.

Please call me if you have any questions.

Regards,

Dave Anderson | Fire & Stewardship Supervisor

Forestry Corporation of NSW | Northern Softwoods Region

CTMBC club kit

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I have had a few people ask about another order of club kit.

We need a minimum of ten of each item (Jersey nix or shorts) to get the order set up

If I get enough people to commit I'll set the online order up again

last time I had lots of people say they wanted to order but then only 4 people placde an order. this made it a bit expensive as I ended up paying the below minimum order fee personally and dragged the process out.

If people genuinely want gear let me know by replying here or on the facebook link and if we get enough I'll set up the online order system again

Hazard reduction burn taking place this Friday/Sat/Sun. While this is in the northern section of forest and should not effect the trails too much the entire forest is closed to recreation while it is taking place and wont reopen until a safety inspection is carrried out

Change of access into Pony club for Pony Express

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Please note: the Entry to the pony club off Hassans Walls road has changed

It's not where the permanent rd is going to be, further down Hassans Walls rd. You turn in to the left then right at a T intersection.

At the moment the area is still a construction zone and the land owner has asked that it is not accessed through the day while machines are working. they do not usually work weekends

Central West interclub series

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

It's been talked about for years and the guys from Dubbo decided it was time for action

All the details will come soon but the gist is each club will nominate one of their usual races as part of the interclub series.

As well as individual honours it will be a battle of clubs too with each club member earning team points to see which club reigns surpreme
