Is anyone keen on Wednesday night rides still? If so I will post it seeing that Chuck has moved to the dark side.

Ride Database Entry:
Yellomundee Regional Park
Meeting Point:

There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

I am creating this calendar entry on behalf of the WSMTB club. I am not personally hosting this event.

We will be doing some track maintenance work out there this Saturday, 6 Oct from 8.30am to lunch (BBQ by WSMTB). All welcome! If everyone did a day per year - then our MTB tracks around Sydney would be even better. Improvements and repairs just don't happen by magic. Let me know if you can come and help.

Trail Tool Time

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On most trail build days the members of BMORC arrive with boot loads of digging implements and weapons of bush regeneration.

I thought it might be an idea to start a thread relating to our tools of choice and ways to maintain them, allowing other trail builders access to a wealth of knowledge and discussion.

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest
Meeting Point:

Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.

Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

(Still)Time to get your out of town passport stamped again!

Due to access issues with Appin have moved this meet to Ourimbah.

If you've indicated you'll be coming hope you can still make it up the coast.

Note start time has been bumped up to 10am to allow for extra travel time.

Heading to the Dam tomorrow for anyone interested.

Current plan is to ride straight over and down to the Dam, then climb up to Hazelbrook from the Dam. This will be a challenge. Depending on time I may do some more exploring.

Current plan is not set in stone and is open to suggestion from anyone wishing to join me.

Narooma

Im heading to Narooma for two weeks, what's best to take the 29er or the cx, looking at google maps there doesn't seem to be much dirt and a lot of road riding to anywhere that does have forest trails. I am steering toward the cx.

The Oaks update for 17 Sep

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Area:
The Oaks
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

The main fire trail from the Oaks down past Bennetts Ridge turn off has been topped in fine dirt. This is a hazard to ride through, not to mention the dust you suck in as a result. Take care as its about 1" thick.

Where to ride in high winds in Blue Mountains

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi, have booked a riding weekend in the mountains but unfortunately there are high winds. Can anyone recommend some sheltered tracks and/or that dont have a high tree-fall risk? We had in mind Yellowmundee, Knapsack or Winmallee - would these be OK to ride? (and Narrowneck on Sunday when less windy). Thanks for your advice, Robyn
