Custom build on a carbon frame

Following much berating and sniggers from track monkeys at my lefty...The second rig will be custom built!!

However already running into the delicate balance of feel and disproportionate weight issues.

I'm currently looking at a SC carbon frame with a Fox Talas adjustable fork upfront. It is a heavy sucker and just wondering if anyone out there that has custom built a rig that has this sort of weight transfer.
Does it affect the overall balance of the rig?
And any tips for custom builds?

The drive train thingy (gears n stuff)

The rear end. You'll notice the complete lack of suspension here. An interesting choice, foolish perhaps, but everyone know's suspension is for girls Eye-wink

The bars

The bars, cables, brakes and headset. Color co-ordination is the most important thing when building a new bike, right?

My new bike. A labour of love and blisters.

This is my new bike. It's steel. It's white. It's mine and I built it. Fairly happy with how it's turned out although as you can probably see I need to shorten the brakes hoses.

For no good reason (and against people's very sound advice) a lot of the components are British (like me). I'm particually fond of Hope at the moment as you can probably tell.

Anyway, comments n stuff would be much appreciated

Cheers

Steve
