Tyres - Seeking advice

Hi, I'm currently running the Schwalbe Rocket Ron tyres that came with my bike as new. Dimensions are 54-622 (29 x 2.10) on both front and rear. Rear tyre is just about dead so I was looking to change to Maxxis Crossmark on rear, Ignitor on the front.

Both the Maxxis tyres are 52/52-622 (29 X 2.10).

I don't normally struggle changing tyres having done so many times over the years (I'm 40+). However, I had a go at changing the rear tyre and the Crossmark seemed way too big in diameter for the rim. So I put the Ron back on, which went on with no problems.

Excellent as of Sunday - the little bit of rain had only an effect for a few hours and is now drying nicely. Bike is clean, tacky and slightly slow trails, but loads of grip if that's your thing.

went through last night, and its a pretty tacky affair, very few puddles and no need to hose the bike afterwards. end of shaft is still a mudfest, but even Baileys paddock now has a dry line, twisties was fantastic, firetrail is still wet, kennys good, reload, excellent, even pump action is very little mud in the quarry and thats it.

should be good till next rain hits! - there, i said it.Eye-wink

New Bike

Pic of my new Trek Remedy 9. Changes include swapping to XT 2x10 cranks, XT trail spd pedals, Blackspire twinity chain guide and new grips.

Went to Awaba today for the first time and tested the remedy's all mountain abilities by doing a few laps of the xc course then rode up mount faulk rd to the down hill course. Coming down was fantastic and scary as all hell, the course was definitely bigger than the bike, but I ended up walking only two sections which I was happy with. Overall stoked with the bike and cannot wait to get it down to Ourimbah's all mountain course.

Rode red loop and blue loop and there was only very minor puddles on the trail in a few places so I would call it green.

Mostly ok, Baileys paddock as per usual. The main issue is quagmire of a stinky mud hole at the bottom of Shaft next to the shit farm fence. More than happy to assist fill it with rocks asap. This is getting worse every week and causes 90% of the mud and crap on your bike.
Worth a ride though!
