Jesmond Park/John Hunter Hospital Hill update for 21 Jun

Status:
Green/Open

Dry except for a couple of small low lying spots. Ground is soft, loamy and beautfully grippy. Just waiting to be shredded. Give it a go.

A little boggy in sections but on the whole pretty good. Should be good in a day or so with the sun and wind.

Sammy's new bike thread- Mountaincycle San An 2.0 and Zen II

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

After a loooooooong wait, the first of my two new frames turned up this week and is mid build. Just need a front mech and a 38/26 chain ring combo for the front and we are all sweet to roll. Fortunately the trails are wet so I don't feel like I am missing anything on the riding front.

So here is new bike #1, the Mountaincycle San An 2.0. Most of the build came from the MC Battery donor bike. The frame has 6.5" of travel and is overkill for glenrock, but it should be a smooth ride.

Way too many wet & muddy slippery bits to be anything other than RED.

Took a look today -- Almost a red. It's ridable, but barely...some trails are dry (Snakes, Easy out) but most are still holding water or just plain mucky.

If you ride, bring a spare set of clothes and be prepared to wash down you and your bike afterwards.

Bleeding 2012 XT Brakes

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I saw a video a few weeks back on the internet somewhere that demonstrated how to bleed 2012 XT brakes but I can't seem to find it again. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Cheers
