I will be heading down to Melbourne for a week before coming back via Thredbo this Christmas.

Where will it be worth checking out? At the moment I will definitely be taking the VP Free but if there is good XC then I may take the Trance down too.

Any ideas will be much appreciated Smiling

I have just been to Christchurch, NZ, and there are amazing rides on the Port Hills right close to the city. Easy access, great scenery, mtb parks with dh shuttle bus service if you want.

Have a look:

And a wonderful singlespeed shop if that's your bag - www.grindbikes.co.nz (great bikes but get your coffee at the Lyttelton Coffee Company). Paste the links.

On the 23rd September 2008 I fly to Nepal, then onto Tibet. I am going to ride my unicycle 1000km (620 miles) across the Roof of the World...

Yes - you read that right the dude is going to ride a unicycle 1000Km through Tibet & Nepal. Wish I could join him... erm... on a bike with two wheels! Eye-wink

Hey fellow riders,

A gang of us are trying to map out a ride from Katoomba to Mittagong, with a stop over in Yerranderie.

Does anyone know a way to connect Narrow Neck to the Old Cedar road, down in the Megalong Valley? I understand Taro's ladder is VERTICAL and not very bike friendly...

Love to hear if anyone has ridden from Katoomba to Mittagong ...without taking the 6 foot track.

ANY insight, random comments or thoughts ARE much appreciated,
cheers and happi riding

Wow, I just read this:

http://www.singletracks.com/blog/?p=860

...which is pretty incredible given that the average snow depth is still more than 35 inches on the mountain.

... turns out the trails at Whistler are being cleared using machines and snow shovels - hard work no doubt, especially on the steeper pitches. I’m guessing the trails will stay pretty soggy through the next few months as the piles of snow melt but hey - they’re biking in May!
