Booralie Demise

Sad times Sad

As part of the ride today we eventually found our way to Waratah Park (aka. the Koala park - end of Namba Road, Duffys Forest). The Booralie trail was probably dissected many years ago to make way for the park, and as we note there's a dirty great electric fence around it blocking this trail. You used to be able to follow the fence line and pick up other side though.

Well, today when we got there, we found a stack of workmen (cooking up snags in their hut - nice!) who explained the land North of the park as been subdivided. They were putting in roads and the usual stuff that means housing will not be far behind.

We managed find and ride what was left of the trail. Rough and fun it was, I ended up falling into the ditch full of water at it's side much to everyone's amusement! Sticking out tongue

Then at the North end (where it meets Booralie St and Duffys Track) we saw more markers showing this area was clearly going to receive similar treatment.

Not that we rode this trail much, but it's pretty shocking when you go to find a route you know is there to find it being destroyed before your eyes.

Very sad indeed. Sad
