Guess who N+1'd
Guess which Nobmobber got this fancy new XC weapon?
It reportedly weighs in at less than 11kg.
Not mine by the way

Do tell...
I can't give that away so easy Brian....Have a guess
It sure was very bling. Giant Anthem X frame, RP23 shock, SID forks, Crossmax SLRs, Avid Ultimates, SRAM X0, XTR cranks, and carbon bits and pieces everywhere!
Tien comes to mind first
would have the seat lower!
Bernd
is that a small frame?
I would also say Tien
The XTR cranks instead of RaceFace and black wheelset are much nicer than the official specs of the Anthem X0 were those custom changes?
Tom
he's just been overseas and he was looking at a giant before xmas!
Yes while it is an Anthem X0 frame and shock, the rest was purchased separately. The owner managed to score the frame locally at a reasonable price and built up the rest himself.
It did look custom built or the LTD model as that one is XTR
I'm guessing by the bar ends it's Steve01.
Now where's my prize?
Ohhh good spot Dylan. Yes it does have Controltech carbon bar ends
So was Dylan right?
I may try and keep my mouth shut for just a little bit longer
They are all sensible guesses so far
I have seen Evan set up his seat with that much angle and he has been wanting a new bike I believe
... perhaps Circular Quay. Which suggests someone who lives in the city - or perhaps has just taken the ferry from Manly - who lives around there?
The other bike looks like a Trance?
Anyway, who would use bar-ends?
Nic
If it's not Steve01 is it Bikeboy? I know he has just got an Anthem but I think it is his only bike.
Final guess is cupcake...
Unless you are being cruel and it's you? I know, I have 3 guesses there but this is going on long enough
Sorry guys , I did get a new Anthem ( X 1 ) but its not the one in the pic , my budget didnt stretch that far
lozza! with his mate buck on the other bike. come on, the suspense is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm wondering if the bar ends ever catch branches and throw people off?
oh, and its not mine either! i do like the white brakes though.
they call them tree catchers! mind you, if i ever get a ticket for dirt works i'll be putting some on for that.they really do help climbing and also give your hands a bit of a rest from the bars on the 100km rides. i had them on all my bikes back in the yorkshire dales where trees are scarce, men are men and sheep are very nervous!
Men are men, and so are the women
1. That spec spells Tien
2. His other Anthem is getting a bit old
3. He hasn't had a new bike in over a year
4. Steve01 has a bike around 11k's, so why would he want another with less travel
5. Loz has a new bike and I don't think he wants another just yet
6. Buck goes riding with Tien a bit so he would be one of the first to know
you're not wrong mate.
It looks like it has Gripshifts for extra weight saving (now that's old school) and a Garmin mount (new school.
- my guess is Gazza the bling-myster.
on a giant???????????????
I doubt it's Gazza...you know...once you ride ...
the big "S" you never go back...

There are two paths you can go by but in the long run........
Tien it is for me! the slr's and the garmin mount along with the custom build. this man loves to shop around!
So that Gazza can finally get off the edge of his seat.........it is in fact Tien's
Well done to Brian. Got it right very first guess.
Also great spotting Nic....the photo is indeed taken at Circular Quay near Maccas. Tien and I were trying out my proposed commute route from Hornsby to Circular Quay on the weekend.
I knew it, who else would ride around in the big ring
I look forward to seeing this at Brisbane Waters.
for a giant!
nice ride Tien, nearly as nice as the F A T ...hahaha
looks very, very nice and light! white brakes? Stroker?.."Avid Ultimates".., ok!
Bernd
Wanted a new bike end of last year, missed out on the 08 Scott Spark 10 and was not keen to pay full price so decided to build another one.
Weight with everything as seen came in at 10.8kg on home bathroom scale (not sure how accurate)
Specs:
09 Giant Anthem XO frame set with RP23
Front derailleur: XT low mount
Rear derailleur: XO long cage
Cassette: XTR 970
Crankset: XTR 970
Cable housing: Nokon
Brakes: Avid Ultimates White 160 front and 140 rear
Fork: SID
Shifters: XO gripshifters
Grips: Sram bar tape
Barends: Controltech
Bar: Raceface Next SL 3/4
Stem: Raceface Deus SL
Post: Raceface Next SL
Seat: WTB
Wheelset: Mavic SLR
Tyres: Ignitor front Crossmarks rear, tubeless with sealant
All up came it at a few dollars over $4500, that's value for a home build and parts collecting, and a whole lot of satisfaction.
Now all is ready to get some serious dirt on it, and get rid off the festive excesses (fat!)
Enjoy New year, and see you on the trails soon.
Tien.
Its only a kids size bike after all.
Ok now that envy has spoken all I'll say is very nice mate, but if you put ultralights on it instead of that wheel set you'd be closer to 10kg
Let there be light
