Is there adequate cooling in this design? You are packing three high powered LED's into a package much smaller than the Ay Ups?
The rear body connects mechanically and is now finned too. The area of the entire assembly is larger than a troutie, and all sides can reject heat as the clamp is only in the mid section, not one entire face.
I estimate that this section alone has more surface area than the Ay-Up too. It is actually a lot bigger in diameter, and has fins. I'll fire it up today and see pretty quickly!

Ben, that is just the housing for the LEDs.
