So it seems I must've been living in a cave to not know about the Manly Dam circuit. Glad to have found this site, and that ride - am going to go tomorrow PM. Anyone else not good at early mornings keen for that?

Hello 4lex. Or should we call you Caveman? Sticking out tongue

I would be interested in an afternoon ride on a weekend. Saturday afternoon would be a preference for me, as this gives maximum recovery from a debaucerous Friday night. Bernd, you mentioned a similar preference today??

I think you will find the group here big enough that there will be takers for any times now.

Cheers : )

Like the caveman gag Smiling

Went with the mrs this afternoon, and now understand why the emphasis on morning... bloody hot at midday. Took me about 80-90 mins round the dam, couldn't manage the technical climbs and came off on one of the more technical descents Sad

Up for a ride next Sunday - can't ride much more than 25-30mins without a break though, so I'll have to pass if you're going too hard!

Cheers,
Alex

Alex,

No worries here, we stop for a catch-up breather every 200 metres or so.

Even I should be able to keep up then... Mind you I see the 'hot lap' record at the dam - 35min round there! - reckon I'd need one of those wr450 2wd yamahas to beat that Smiling

there is a general thought that atleast two of those sub 40 min laps are done by people on the juice, hence some of the nick names going round

Rob's picture

Yeah - Orange juice and Gatorade. Notice I haven't actually tried a flier at the Dam for some time. When I return from hols will do some training and see what we can do to get close to Matt.

Name calling and mud slinging on the forum. Credibility called into question. Watch the ego's crank up now. Laughing out loud Me? I never had any credibility anyway.

Plus, I would never take MTB riding that serious. It's only supposed to be fun and social. Downhills and drop-offs. That's the ticket!

Rob's picture

Hmmm... maybe that did sound a bit serious... you should know by now, nothing serious intended around here! Sticking out tongue

Sorry.

I buy that ticket, toooooo.......

I have been hoping for a timed 'ride off' for all the 'roids boys... you know who you are!! either Manly Dam or the old Favorite - Oxford Falls...

Little-Ditty's picture

I would leave the quick rides to the professionals. To me, there is not enough fun in it. That's the same reason why I hate going to the gym - where is the social side to it?

Anyway, for the mere mortals here, I will be happy bringing up the rear at Manly Dam. Unless we are going downhill of course!

Hi Alex,

I am going on a Red Hill ride on Sat. So I am available for a ride late on Sunday.

The weather for Sydney is to be about 35-40 degrees on Sunday, so the later the better. Shall we meet in the lower car park at, say, 6:00 p.m? Let me know if you can make it. 'Chris' has started a similar forum topic on this site, so we should probably meet up.

I will be in a blue Mazda2.

Cheers,

Liam.
