cool... ever tried to draw a map for off-road on google-maps? it assumes you want to follow a road. bleugh

click on the Cycle map at the top and in the box on the right click bike as the mode of transport. This uses the OpenStreetMap maps with cycle paths added. Allows you to plot a route around Manly Dam for example and then download it to your Garmin. You can also print out the directions
