Hi Guys, been out of the sport for 5-6 years and have recently got a new dualy and since so much has changed in that time i was wondering what everyone uses for chain lube. Pedro's used to be my choice, found it quite good but not sure if they still have products available. Cheers

Rock n'Roll Gold, it cleans and lubes, i swear by the stuff Smiling (as opposed to swearing at it like some other lubes)

Also the rock n'roll cable magic is a great product to have in the workshop too!

I use this stuff as it was recommended by my LBS and it seems to work. It doesn't attract all the sand and crud like the wet lubes which is deffinatley a bonus this time of year.

My two favourites are Squirtlube or Purple Extreme. I also reckon that the TF2 Teflon spray lube is a good quick fix if you forgot to lube your chain after the last ride and need to hit the trails quick.

The Rock n Roll lubes

I like a dry teflon lube most of the time (White Lightning Clean at the mo) - keeps the chain clean and quiet, but needs regular lubing. For crap conditions like the Husky, you can't go past Purple Extreme.

Need a pretty decent clean to swap between the two however.

Purple Extreme

Best I've used so far.

After trying many these are the only two I now use.

Ditto for Purple Extreme.

Squirt and Rock and Roll are the best I find.Pedros is more of a wet weather lube,it will attract too much dirt on the chain in dry conditions.Freddie.

That Inox stuff, appears to be a wet lube. I wouldn't use it.

I use Royal Purple Max chain on my XC race bike. However, it requires time to dry so it can be effective. I usually put it on a couple of days before an event in winter, and it's good for over 100kms with no dramas what so ever, no matter the conditions. Then after the event, I always fully service the bike and I clean the chain and re-lube the chain. Then again, a bit before the next event, I re-apply lube. It's the best lube.

But on my other bikes, after going through a heap of different options( Rock n Roll Blue, R&R gold, Royal Purple Max-chain, Inox teflon dry-lube, White lightening). I found Purple Extreme the best for all conditions. It does leave a bit of residue on the chain, but it's ability to not be shifted in wet conditions is pretty damn good, put it on, and ride. It'll last 40kms, wet or dry no probs.

With all the wet weather lately I have been using finish line green wet lube and I am really happy with.

Still use rock and roll gold for dry conditions.

Pedros Ice Wax, or White Lightning, or plain old spray-on teflon dry lube. Smiling
